Industrial Design Intern
Spot On Square is looking for a ID Intern to fit in with our growing team. The position is a great opportunity for the right individual to come in, take ownership, design and develop products from concept to production. Our ambitions are huge and there is a lot of room for this position to grow. This is a opportunity to learn a lot about running a design business, design in a fast paced environment and getting product to production quickly.
Qualified Candidates Skills:
- Currently in a Industrial Design Program
- Fluency in design hardware and software, including Solidworks, Rhino, Photoshop and Cintiq or Wacom tablets
- Understanding of mechanical problem solving and ability to develop 3D CAD
- Good sense for graphics and ability to do some graphic work
- Great communication skills
- An open mind and an adventurous outlook
- Enjoys working with others on collaborative projects
- Ability to learn quickly
Tasks include:
- Developing new concepts for the Spot On Square brand
- Support in developing design for client based projects
- Help to define product opportunities and areas of growth for Spot On Square
Job Requirements:
- You must have an understanding of manufacturing, materials and processes.
- Excellent problem solving, drawing and communication skills, as well as strong 2D and 3D computer skills.
- Good communication ability and teamwork skills are a must.
- Ability to confidently present your design to clients and participate in meetings
- Must commit to a minimum of 3 months
- Must be available a minimum of 20 hours per week

Graphic Design Intern
Spot On Square is looking for a Graphic Design Intern to fit in with our growing team. The position is a great opportunity for the right individual to come in, take ownership, design and influence the direction of graphic design within Spot On Square. Our ambitions are huge and there is a lot of room for this position to grow. This is a opportunity to learn a lot about running a design business and design in a fast paced environment.
The internship covers a wide range of responsibilities, as the position will involve all stages of design development from research to design and production. In this position you will support all design needs within the office working with Creative Director to create graphic content for social media, online and print. Early next year Spot On Square will put out it’s first direct to consumer catalog. We need your help to get this accomplished.
Responsibilities:
- Concepting projects and active participation in critiques
- Design of offline communications pieces and online marketing ads
- Research inspiration, materials, merchandise and production methods
- Photo touch up and management of photo library
- Scanning, organizing, cataloging, photocopying, and other odds & ends
- Work with Sales and Marketing team to determine need for updates, dealer adds, promotions, etc.
- Help to plan, coordinate and set up photo shoots
- Help to define new product that is graphic related such as; textiles, wall decor and graphics on product
Job Requirements:
- Open to students currently in a design program or recent graduates
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of and experience working with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and execute tasks on a tight deadline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be available for a minimum of 20 hours per week, hours will vary based on project needs.
- Must commit to a minimum of 3 months
